That's the only way to play - it all or nothing! And Jesus is our model - what did he leave undone, what did hold back. He gave it all and looked what happened!

This looks like a great book, his web site list of alot good resources too. I like the way you start out by saying "a natural response for many leaders". It is quite a steep learning curve to train your mind and emotions to do what is not natural. Even when we know we cannot do what comes natural to be successful, it can be a real challenge. You must firmly decide if you are willing to make the necessary changes to go to the next level. I need to get this book! Thanks for recommending it!

I wish I had a nickel for all of my unfinished projects/good intentions! I've started books I haven't completed, craft projects still tucked away awaiting my return, and businesses I've attempted.... had I not only examined my desires, but also my motives, and counted the cost, not just of the wallet, but of my time.
Desire is good and I agree, it won't get you much. Even a burning desire will get you nowhere without action. You must add perseverance to see a thing accomplished.

In the spiritual realm we call desire, hope; we call intention, faith (another action word); and we call perseverance, patience.
But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. James 1 v.4

Well said. You have to beleive in the cause enough to give your all. True leadership is not about a title but about having influence. The General directs the troops but the Lt get to lead the troops into battle. The plan is set but the decsions they make to carry out the plan happen as the fight plays out.
